Volunteers play a vital and valued role at the Center for the Visually Impaired and are a key element to the success of the Center's emphasis on quality service delivery. Volunteers are trained to complement the work of the staff, by providing services that enhance the independence and well being of individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
Here are a few ways you can volunteer your time.
TELEPHONE REASSURANCE – Call home-bound CVI consumers to determine well-being and provide social interactions and relationships.
OUTREACH – Assist Community Development and Rehabilitation Services with outreach opportunities, low vision fairs, health fairs.
CLASSROOM SUPPORT – Assist the classroom teacher in working with children, teenagers and adults.
TASK FORCE – Provide clerical support in the way of mailings, filing, answering phones during regular business hours of the Center For The Visually Impaired.
