STRATEGIC IMPERATIVE #3

MENTORING PROGRAMS

A woman and two younger individuals

THE FACT IS...

  • Blind people are well-equipped to mentor blind people. Many believe they are actually better at doing so because they can relate and share from their own, real experiences.

  • PALS (People Adjusting to Limited Sight) support group provides the visually impaired person and their families an opportunity to get together for social, educational and recreational purposes.

  • Conklin Davis Center for the Visually Impaired (CDCVI) is positioned to establish mentoring programs with a new, innovative, inter-generational component:

SENIORS WILL MENTOR YOUNG ADULTS
YOUNG ADULTS WILL MENTOR SENIORS
