STRATEGIC IMPERATIVE #4
COMMUNITY CENTER PARTNERSHIP
WHAT IF...
A Wellness Center was created to provide for the whole blind community.
-
Reputable community partners provided fitness, health, music, art, and other programs customized for the blind and visually impaired.
-
Experienced leadership was available to unite this new wellness partnership.
-
Certified/credentialed program management was available to implement and sustain Community Center operations.
-
A campus already existed with adequate space to accommodate a Community Wellness Center.
-
The new Community Wellness Center could be named to honor a champion for the blind.
-
Funding became available to open the doors to this Community Wellness Center within 3 years.
Conklin Davis Center for the Visually Impaired (CDCVI) is uniquely poised with the visionary leadership, program management, space, partner relationships and decades of experience serving the blind community to make this dream a reality. The organization’s stakeholders, board, staff, partners, and volunteers believe this new Community Wellness Center will respond to an unmet need locally, statewide, and eventually across America. The new center will be the first of its kind in the United States. As such, lead benefactor(s) gifting a minimum of one million dollars may request the Community Wellness Center be named to honor a champion for the blind.
